DIY Masks made from our Muslin Cotton cannot compare in efficacy to certified medical protective masks. Nonetheless, experts do agree that they may offer some degree of protection. It is important to change your mask frequently and to wash used masks at high temperature.s. If you plan to sew for certain use, please follow recommendation and requirements for that  use. If you choose to sew mask using elastic or bias tape, make sure those materials can withstand washing at high temperatures, as well.

We do not make any claims on the efficacy of this mask and our Muslin Fabric quality against spreading disease from an infected person nor protecting an individual from infection. Sew and use the mask on your own risk. We would also suggest you include a note that hand-made masks are not made to medical standards.

This muslin fabric will last for ages, proving great value for money. Muslin is a reusable material if looked after properly. Rinse in cold water after using the cloth, and then machine wash with an unscented detergent. Muslin can be boiled to sterilize it.
